Upper School Cross Country

On Monday 25th September there was a cross country competition between Griffin House and Princes Risborough Junior School. Below are some of the accounts from the competitors:

On Monday it was really intense. It was our first time at Cross Country and it was Griffin House against Princes Risborough. They won, it was sad for Griffin House. We were exhausted after our race. All of Key Stage 2 did it. Well done Griffin House.

On Monday, we took part in Cross Country. All of Key Stage 2 took part and we had to do two laps of the top lawn. Half-way through we felt exhausted, Risborough School were very fast. It was very fun but unfortunately we lost.

Years 3 and 4 had to do two laps and Years 5 & 6 had to do four laps. Year 3 girls went first, followed by Year 3 boys then the same for the other year groups. Everyone did very well but unfortunately PRJS won by 14 points.

We began with a walk around the track so we knew where the course was. Then the racing began. The first race was year 3, the girls and then the boys. Next was the year 4 girls followed by the boys. In the year 4 boys race, Jacob had a slow start but gradually went past all the boys to finish in 1st place, our only winner of the day!

Then it was the turn of Year 5.  Their race was over 4 laps which is quite a long way. The year 6’s finished off the competition again over 4 laps.  The whole team tried their hardest and thoroughly enjoyed the competition although we were not the winners overall.

Well done to Griffin House.
