Rainbow Fish in Pre School

Pre School have been very busy creating a wonderful new display around the theme of the rainbow fish to support making new friendships and managing our feelings.  Using the story, the children started the week putting their theatrical skills on display acting out the story using colourful ribbons for the scales to practice sharing and being kind.

All of the children got involved, using a mixture of materials and media to decorate scales to form our own rainbow fish for the display board.  Using our understanding of the world, Ffion then decided to add a sea horse, Cristina added a crab and Teddy wanted to add a shark and Adam a dolphin; not forgetting Raphael’s important inclusion of seaweed!  Annelise decided we should make an octopus and her friends used their counting skills to make eight long tentacles, linking card together in long chains.

In French, Madame Prevost taught us the word ‘poisson’ and included a song about a fish for us to sing; we also learnt two French words ‘petite’ and ‘grande’.
