Pre School Bear Hunt

This week in Pre School, our explorers have been on a bear hunt. Although we were a little scared of actually finding a bear, we had great fun walking through the long wavy grass, squelching through the sticky mud and exploring the forest. We even found the river at the back of our school!

Back in the classroom we made the snowstorm first with shaving foam and then with pieces of material and cotton wool. We also built a bear cave and the next morning there was a bear in it!

Alice W. “We can’t go over it, we haven’t got a ladder.”

Henry “We can’t go under it, there isn’t any tunnel!”

Fletcher "We seed a river and the apple garden”

William “We’re going to catch a big one. We’re not scared. Uh Oh!”

Katie “I liked seeing the bear.”

Catherine “We went through the long grass and on the bridge."

Alice S “I liked the swishy grass and I saw a forest and it was just a pretend bear.”

Eve “We’re not going on a bear hunt ever again!”

As the week continued, we decided to use our feet to explore texture on a blind trail, ‘squelching mud path’ and ‘polystyrene snowstorm’ which created a huge mess but the children had a wonderful adventure and the activities really supported our ‘Understanding of the World’ and ‘Exploring Arts and Media’ fields of learning.
