Form IV have been looking at the topic ‘Passport to the World’ this term. We chose to look at Italy and compare the human and physical geography of Italy to that of England. So far, we have created a fact file of Italy and also researched our favourite Italian city. Over the half term holiday, I set the children the task of choosing their favourite Italian landmark to present to the class! The children were very creative and chose a range of physical and human landmarks to present.
In our presentations, we discussed interesting facts about each landmark and compared them to English landmarks. We are now creating an England and Italy comparison booklet to show what is geographically similar and different about both countries.
Some of the children also decided to focus on history over the half term and make a ‘Roman Menu’. We were very surprised at some of the foods Romans ate and agreed we were glad they are not on the menu at Griffin House School!
